How Words with Friends differs from Scrabble
The two games play alike, tiles, a shared board, points per word, but Words with Friends uses its own board layout with more bonus squares, and its own tile point values and letter distribution. A word that scores well in one doesn't always score the same in the other.
A worked example
A rack of RIPANTE plays out to three seven letter words that use the whole rack, PAINTER, PERTAIN and REPAINT, plus plenty of shorter backups if the long play doesn't fit your board.
Working with blanks
Add ? or * for each blank tile on your rack. The tool treats it as a wildcard that can complete a word however it needs to.
Stuck on an awkward rack
A rack heavy on vowels or consonants is one of the most common Words with Friends frustrations. Type your exact letters in and scan the results by length rather than guessing, it's faster and it won't miss a word you'd have otherwise overlooked.

Frequently asked questions
How do I use this Words with Friends cheat?
Type your rack into the box, add ? or * for any blank tiles, and every word your letters can legally play appears automatically, sorted by length and score.
Is this different from a Scrabble word finder?
The underlying engine is the same, but Words with Friends uses its own board layout, tile values, and official word list, which differ from Scrabble in real ways. See our comparison post for details.
Can a word be valid in Words with Friends but not Scrabble?
Yes, this happens regularly. The two games maintain separate official word lists that don't fully overlap.
Does this account for Words with Friends' board layout?
No, it only finds words your rack can form. It doesn't know your specific board, so use your own judgment for placement and bonus squares.
Is using a Words with Friends cheat against the rules?
It's a personal call. Casual games with friends usually don't mind; some players prefer to use a tool like this only after getting stuck.
Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free, with no account or download required.
Is this affiliated with Words with Friends or Zynga?
No. Words with Friends is a trademark of Zynga. This is an independent, unaffiliated tool.
What does the every tile switch do?
It narrows results to only the words that use your entire rack at once, which is worth watching for since it often earns a bonus.
